“How many times have I been asked to explain what the One World Centre is? I sometimes smile to myself when I start parroting the words that we surround ourselves with: ‘Transformative education/global citizenship/sustainable development goals etc. but what I really mean is: we are a small centre but we gather people in. We care for one another, we care for our community and we care for our world, nature and human and for the generations to come. We want something better a more kind, generous, and just world where everyone’s rights are respected, valued and fought for. It is a place of hope where people actively engage along that yellow brick road of hope. Our young people need and deserve that hope as they are otherwise bombarded with despair and doom. To me that is our foundation and a reason to keep the flame burning.”
