An exciting new program with a focus on global citizenship and sustainability has just been introduced to the WA senior secondary curriculum.
Global Citizenship and Sustainability.
This unit will be ideal for Years 10 to 12 students and schools looking for:
Integrated Learning – The 2018 pilot at Shenton College has demonstrated the program’s suitability for integrated STEM and/or Humanities learning.
Authentic Problem-solving – Students apply their learning to design innovative solutions to real-world problems – scaleable from local to global.
Sustainable Futures  – Problem-solving is focused on the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students are empowered to plan for our collective future.
Global Competence – Based on the UNESCO model for Global Citizenship Education (which also underpins PISA Global Competence test, from 2018) the program develops ACARA General Capabilities.
UNAAWA is set to support schools interested in delivering this exciting new program.
