****Please don’t mention China……!****
This term has seen huge interest in resources on China – for obvious reasons.
At the moment, anything on our shelves that has anything to do with China, at all Year levels, is out on loan.
However, given our borrowing period of 3 weeks, I will do my best to rotate resources around to give everybody a chance to use them.
So, if you are running really late with your planning, and have only just decided to look for resources on China, contact me and I will “put you on the list.”

WORLD FOOD DAY is coming up in October.
We have just purchased a fantastic new book entitled Hungry Planet : What the World Eats. It is a photographic study of families from around the world, and shows what people eat during the course of a week.
30 families from 24 countries around the world are represented.
The photographs tell much about how people from different countries/cultures/levels of society feed their families. They provide a snapshot of how diet, nutrition, and health for example depend upon those “big picture” factors such as poverty, conflict, trade, marketing and globalization.
Thought provoking essays on food and the inequities of food distribution are included, as are a selection of authentic recipes.
Recommended for teachers looking at the topics of resources distribution and poverty with their middle-secondary students.
